Wacky Winter Weather & Pure Barre

I live at the Beach, and the weather is far from Beach weather. Okay this past weekend, seriously beach weather 50’s & 60’s, but now it’s raining, gusty winds, and oh yeah 30 degrees! Ugh. No I do not want to play outside with you Mother Nature! I will write to my people instead!
Friday after work I attended my first Barre class. It was unlike most other group fitness classes I have done before. They were very friendly there, welcoming and showed me around. For the next 55 minutes I had a mat, a small ball, 3lb free weights and an resistance band. There was music, and the instructor and everyone around me was “tucking”! I didn’t know what I was tucking where! It was pretty hysterical if you ask me. I finally got some of the exercises only for them to move onto the next one. I highly suggest you try a Barre class if you have never done it. I believe people get great results and that is why they are so very popular, at least around here. For me, I can not justify spending $22.00 a class for 55 minutes being confused and receiving little instruction. I prefer my instructor to be at the front of the room showing/telling me how to properly do the exercise. I signed up for this class because they have $5.00 Fridays, and I couldn’t resist trying something new! I think I may try it again with another instructor just to give it a fair chance! Have you ever done a Barre class? What was your favorite thing about it? What does the little ball get used for, we did not use ours!
I was able to get outside this weekend and get some bike miles in! I was happy to be on the saddle, well not so much. I was just super uncomfortable, so I only did 15 miles. It was really windy… this makes me feel better about only doing 15 miles! Sunday we cleaned! Have you ever noticed the more you train, the less you clean? What a horrible correlation. I usually try to get some things done quickly in the morning so that I can spend whatever other free time training.
I have some very exciting news to share with you guys in the coming week, as I just got off of the telephone and accepted my FIRST ambassadorship! (that’s a word right?!) I’m so excited I can barely sit here! I’ve applied to many and well, just haven’t been able to articulate my thoughts into the right words and there are lots of awesome people out there! But I got this one! I will announce this on Friday! Stay tuned!
Have any of you applied and not been accepted as an ambassador before? Did you apply and get accepted? What have you learned? I’m super excited to be a part of a team of highly motivated and like minded people!
